- Remove Standing Water

- 1 plastic bottle
- 1 cup of hot water
- 1/4 cup of brown sugar
- 1 gram of yeast
Start by cutting the top off the bottle. Add the hot water into the lower half and mix in the brown sugar. Allow it to cool down and mix in the yeast; it’ll eat the sugar and produce carbon dioxide, which will attract the mosquitos.
Place the top half upside down inside the bottom half of the bottle—that’ll allow the mosquitos to fly in but prevent them from flying out.
- Use a Large Fan
Fans are effective at deterring mosquitos. This has to do with the fact that they’re weak fliers; they won’t be able to stand up to the breeze.
Not only that, but the fan will also disperse and dilute the carbon dioxide that you exhale. That way, they won’t be able to find you as easily.
For the best results, use an oscillating fan; it’ll cover much more area than a fixed fan. For example, you can place it out on the deck or patio.
